One of the most interesting parts of our daily lives is when we visit companies throughout Flintshire.  There are so many amazing companies based in the county, that it almost seems unfair to point at some and not others!  However, we visited one this week which has made a huge impression on us.  Remember the name Mutu and visit their website www.mutuuk.com. This is a Holywell based business which is going to be huge!

They are working within, what is known in marketing terms as a vertical market.  They sell a managed telephone service for hairdressers and salons and no one else – yet!

Why is this so amazing?  Because they are bring the technology which works so well in call centres and transferring it to the small business market.  If you have ever worked in a call centre, you will know how much information is available to managers regarding the use of time within the business.  Imagine knowing who called you when you were engaged, talking to another customer?  If it is someone trying to book an appointment, that could be a potential lost sale.  If you only get one extra call a day, it soon mounts up to being several thousands of pounds in extra profit over a year!

Mutu are also able to help businesses read this information.  Just like weblogs, the devil is in the detail.  They gave us lots of examples where their figures were able to highlight a flaw with the business structure.  One business found out that they needed to change their business hours.  Another found that their receptionist needed retraining. This is the key to why you should keep an eye on this business.

Mutu might not turn out to be the next Google, but they could be.  They might become the next big thing from Flintshire. You heard it here first
