Ok, so it’s not as not as important as that day in June 1995 when the world went mad for Windows 95, but today does mark an important day in the world of Microsoft based Windows with the release of the latest version.

If history has taught us anything about software releases, it’s that you shouldn’t buy new software on the day of release! ; )Vista offers a number of new features, although most are just ‘eyecandy’ – makes it look nice for the sake of looking nice!

Over the next few weeks, the end user reports will come out regarding how the software is operating, and these will be worth reading.  They will give you a better understanding of what advantages you may get from upgrading. There are also new version, some of which are quite limiting and might give less alround useability than your current operating system!

As things are at the moment, the best advice we have read is to let the techies have their play, and wait until you see Windows Vista regularly in a working enviroment.  This might take six months or so, but it will help you avoid the headaches that upgrading an operating system on a working system is sure to cause!
