Enterprise Week
Enterprise Week (17-23 November 2008), part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, is a national celebration of enterprise with thousands of events and activities happening across the UK. Last year there were over 5,000 events and more than half a million people took part!
Over 2,000 organisations run events and activities during the week to encourage people to have ideas and make them happen.
This year, Flintshire Business Services are running an event at the Greenfield Business Centre. It is by invertation only, and, on the 19th of November, students from a couple of local schools will be learning about business.
This event is about showing kids that business is not about men in suits shouting ‘You’re Fired!’ at each other. It aims to demonstrate that business is an opportunity to make the very best that they can for themselves.
The day will include a tour of the centre, workshops and seminars covering a host of useful subjects. When we were looking to set this up, we quickly realised that teachers do not have the skills or experiance to really let their students know the difference between theory and practice. This event will highlight employment law, finance and marketing. This will be presented by a solicitor, a local bank and an ex professional sales person.
We hope this will be a memorable and useful day for the students.
The best bit though is that you could take part as well. Full details are available at the official website here – www.enterpriseweek.org.uk
