Whatever business you are in, you are always going to be looking for the next big thing.  If you are involved with high tech hardware, the most obvious technology growth of the past few years has been flat screen technology.  So how far can this go?

Sony think a bit further.

They have created a small screen which can be rolled in hand and doesn’t break or warp.

Imagine what sort of products you could produce with this as the basis of it?

You could create a a pillow which worked as a tv.

You could produce a coat which displayed a camera view of what its wearer was seeing – on the wearers back – making them practically invisible!

You could have films of your family in your wallet where you now have a photograph.

The ideas are there – the business which will make a fortune is the one which grabs the opportunity and risks producing the most desirable products for the next generation of customers.  The ones who will follow them on their tail coats will be the ones who turn that business from a cash cow into a commodity product.
