Regeneration Money for Deeside Brings Opportunities

Flintshire County Council are taking steps to bring £10 million of investment being made available by the Welsh Assembly Government over a 10 year period into the Connah’s Quay, Shotton and Queensferry areas.

The money will be used to improve local living conditions focusing on improved health, energy efficiency and other neighbourhood improvements. It will also open the doors to further funding to benefit the area.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Arnold Woolley said:

“We are determined to attract funding to improve homes, shops and transport in the area and will be working with local communities to identify priorities in the coming months.”

Deputy Leader, Councillor Tony Sharps, said:

“This will be a major boost for an area that has been hit hard by recent economic changes and will create opportunities for partnerships within the private sector.”
