at the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon

The Welsh Assembly Government’s Supplier Development Service, in conjunction with Magnox North Sites Wylfa and Trawsfynydd, are keen to engage with current and prospective suppliers in order to raise awareness in terms of:
- An opportunity to liaise with 8 of the major contractors on site who will have up and coming opportunities for local businesses over the next few years
- Potential opportunities for your business on both sites in the future and on other industrial sites in the future
The event will target businesses who match the following business opportunities identified by the 8 main contractors at both sites and beyond;
- Amco for the supply of electrical wholesale services, steelwork and bracket fabrication, employee training services, minor civil works, labour recruitment.
- BNS Nuclear Services for the supply of structural steelwork, machining of carbon and stainless steel, stainless steel and carbon steel fabrication, sheet metal work, electrical panel building, C&I logic systems, PLC software programming and development, load testing equipment supply, load testing facilities, material protection (paint, stove enamelling etc).
- Carillion for the supply of demolition work, skip hire, crane hire, PPE suppliers, abseiling suppliers for maintenance work and inspections on reactor buildings.
- Costain for the supply of structural steelwork, plant hire, PPE.
- Doosan Babcock Energy for the supply of engineering/mechanical materials, specialised plant hire.
- Eurest Services for the supply of roof repairs (£50k-£100k work packages), shot blasting and painting (£100k-£250k work packages), joinery/glazing/fire door maintenance (£250k-£500k work packages) and minor civil engineering works (£50k-£100k)
- Hertel for the supply of PPE, plant hire, labour/resource, vehicle hire, building materials, metal stockists/cladding, engineering spares, stationery.
- TSIF for the supply of PPE, crane hire, plant hire, machining supplies, fabrication suppliers.
If your business can meet any of the above demands, you are invited to make a 15 minute appointment slot with up to 4 key buyers from the suppliers above. You are strongly advised to limit your appointment slots to the categories that your business can supply.
There will also be an opportunity for you to meet with key Magnox North representatives from both sites (no appointment needed), as well as representatives from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, business support organisations including Flexible Support for Business, Gwynedd County Council, Anglesey County Council and the Supplier Development Service will also be on hand to discuss general business issues, business support, grants, funding, and tendering assistance.
There will be an opportunity at the event for your business to attend to a presentation held by VEN Management www.venmanagement.com about collaborative working on both sites. These 1 hour presentations will be held at 11am and repeated at 2pm and 5pm. VEN have identified opportunities at both sites which offer local businesses the opportunity to collaborate and tender for larger contracts. You are encouraged to put your business name down for one of these workshops in order to learn about potential opportunities for your business here. The list of potential opportunities will be on display at the event itself.
