FSB calls for a simpler Tax System for SME’s

A simplification of the tax system would benefit a vast majority of small business owners, according to the latest findings of the Federation of Small Business and ICM Research.  Indeed, 75 percent of them think growth would occur as a direct result.

FSBHere are couple other key stats stemming from a survey of 1,600 small business owners: about ten percent of small businesses spend more than six hours per week dealing with tax-related issues.  Also, 66 percent employ professional help because they don’t feel comfortable handling everything on their own.

John Wright, National Chairman of the FSB, responded to all this by stating, “The Government must recognise how important small businesses are to strengthening economic recovery.”

He later continued, “As we head towards a General Election the message from small businesses is clear: the incoming Government must think small first and get conditions right for entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive.”

So hopefully we’ll see things become a little (or a lot) easier to understand in the near-ish future.
